ASICS Novablast 6 Review: Features, Specs and Verdict
The ASICS Novablast 6 is one of the best-value training shoes on the market: heavily cushioned, light for its stack and with a bounce that makes it fun for both easy runs and faster sessions. This version improves forefoot energy and gains agility, although it is somewhat less stable than the previous one.
This review is based on official ASICS data and on published lab tests and reviews, such as RunRepeat, not on our own testing. The rating on the card, 9.3 out of 10, is an approximate score based on those reviews.
What’s new in the ASICS Novablast 6
The Novablast 6 combines FF Blast Max foam with an FF Turbo Squared insert in the forefoot, which increases bounce at toe-off. It also improves the outsole, with ASICSGRIP and AHAR LO rubber in key areas, and keeps its 8 mm drop. It is more agile than the 4 and 5, and the price goes up slightly.

Differences between official and measured figures are normal: brands usually give the weight of a specific size and measure drop differently. If you want to understand what they mean, I explain it in the guide on drop, cushioning and carbon plate.
Midsole and ride
The ride is plush and bouncy, and the new forefoot insert adds energy at toe-off. It works well at different paces, from easy runs to tempo sessions. In exchange, it is somewhat less stable than the two previous versions, and heavy heel strikers may prefer other options.
Upper and fit
The upper holds the foot well and breathes very well, ideal for running in the heat. The tapered toe box isn’t for everyone.
To get the size right, follow the steps in the guide on running shoe size.
Outsole and durability
The new outsole materials improve grip and durability is very good according to published reviews.
Who is the ASICS Novablast 6 for?
Midfoot and forefoot strikers looking for a versatile, fun shoe for easy runs and faster workouts without paying for a premium model, and those who found the Novablast 5 too bulky.
Who it isn’t for: if you liked the stability of the Novablast 4 and 5, or are a heavy heel striker, you may prefer another option.
