Joma R3000 Review: Features, Specs and Verdict

The Joma R3000 is Joma’s carbon-plated racing shoe. It has a Fly Reactive midsole, a 6 mm drop and, according to Joma, World Athletics approval. It costs €179.99 on Joma’s website, and BIKILA has it from €139.95.

The data in this review comes from joma-sport.com. We have not tested it and there are no published lab measurements, so the review carries no score.

What the Joma R3000 is

Joma presents it as its first carbon-plated running shoe and one of the main models in its R racing line. It is built for half marathons and marathons, with more cushioning than a racing flat to cope with fatigue, and Joma recommends it for paces under 4:00 per kilometre on roads. The 2026 model is unisex.

Fly Reactive midsole and carbon plate

Fly Reactive is, according to Joma, a light material that adds push and absorbs impact. On top sits the Carbon Plate, a rigid structure that the brand says improves propulsion and reduces effort with each stride. Joma does not publish the stack height or the plate type.

Upper and fit

A very light technical mesh with VTS technology, which Joma says improves breathability and reduces heat inside the shoe, plus the Sportech heat-sealed fit system. The collar is ergonomic. The brand does not publish the width of the last.

Outsole

It uses Durability rubber, the same as Joma’s training shoes, reinforced in the zones with the most ground contact. There are no independent wear or grip tests.

Who is the Joma R3000 for?

Runners who want to try a carbon-plated shoe without spending €200, or who want a second pair for intervals and long runs at race pace. At 260 grams it is the heaviest of the nine in our guide, and the paces Joma recommends point to fast runners.

Pros and cons

Pros: price, carbon plate, Durability rubber and sizes from EU 36 to 46.

Cons: weight, no lab data, and Joma’s own page gives two different weight and drop figures.
