Saucony Endorphin Pro 5 Review: Features, Specs and Verdict
The Saucony Endorphin Pro 5 is Saucony’s carbon-plated racing shoe, with PWRRUN HG and PWRRUN PB foams and an 8 mm drop. Saucony’s Spanish site lists it at €270 (€216 on sale on 4 November 2026), and BIKILA has it from €179.95.
This review combines the official data from saucony.com with the lab tests from RunRepeat. We have not tested it, and the score on this page, 9.1 out of 10, is RunRepeat’s rating.
What the Saucony Endorphin Pro 5 is
BIKILA presents it as Saucony’s most balanced super shoe, for racing from the 5K to the marathon, and in its store it costs less than the Endorphin Elite 3. RunRepeat sees it as the best super shoe for beginners and for runners who feel uncomfortable in unstable designs, and also as a training shoe for intervals.

PWRRUN HG and PWRRUN PB foams
Saucony keeps PWRRUN PB, which has been in the line for more than five years, and pairs it with PWRRUN HG. In the lab it returned 72.8% of the energy at the heel and 75.8% at the forefoot, an improvement on the previous version though below the Adios Pro 4. It absorbed 137 impact units at the heel and 107 at the forefoot, enough for the marathon.
Plate and stiffness
The plate is forked at the forefoot, but this is one of the stiffest shoes RunRepeat has measured: 26.1 N to bend and 15.8 Nm of torsional rigidity. With the rocker sole, the transition is very guided. RunRepeat found it more control-focused than explosive.

Upper, fit and outsole
It is one of the roomier super shoes at the midfoot (95.2 mm, the average across all shoes), although the toebox narrows to 69.3 mm. It fits true to size. The PWRTRAC rubber improved wet grip from 0.52 in version 4 to 0.68, and RunRepeat praises its durability. The toebox, on the other hand, scored 1 out of 5 in the wear test.

Who is the Saucony Endorphin Pro 5 for?
Runners looking for their first plated racing shoe, heel strikers and anyone who wants a super shoe that can also handle intervals. Runners after maximum responsiveness have more explosive options, according to RunRepeat.
Pros and cons
Pros: stability, outsole, price against its rivals and the fact that it works for training.
Cons: heavier than most super shoes, very stiff, and the rocker will not suit everyone.

Saucony Endorphin Pro 5 alternatives
Lighter and softer, the ASICS Metaspeed Edge Tokyo. More durable, the HOKA Rocket X 3. At a similar price and with a higher RunRepeat score, the adidas Adizero Adios Pro 4. All nine are compared in our guide to carbon plate running shoes.
