Nike Alphafly 4 Goes on Sale in Spain: €279.99 and 188 Grams vs the €500 Adios Pro Evo 3
The Nike Alphafly 4 is now on sale on Nike’s Spanish website for €279.99, in men’s and women’s versions, at 188 grams in EU size 42 with an 8 mm drop. It arrives in the same week that adidas brought back the Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3, the shoe from the first official sub-two-hour marathon, which costs €500 on adidas.es. We go through the Nike Alphafly 4 changes listed on the brand’s product page and compare it with the Evo 3, spec by spec.
What is new in the Nike Alphafly 4
Nike calls it its lightest racing shoe yet. The main change is the forefoot Air Zoom unit, which the brand says has been updated for the first time in Alphafly history: softer, quieter and with more energy return. There is also extra cushioning under the curved forefoot.
The midsole stacks two foams. Standard ZoomX sits at the bottom and a new ZoomX LT sits on top, which Nike describes as the lightest version of its most responsive foam. The wide carbon fibre Flyplate stays, which Nike says gives stability over 42 km. The upper is an updated Atomknit with perforated mesh zones for breathability and midfoot cables for lockdown.

Nike Alphafly 4 weight, drop and price
These are the figures on nike.com/es:
| Spec | Nike Alphafly 4 |
|---|---|
| Price in Spain | €279.99 |
| Weight | approx. 188 g (EU 42) |
| Drop | 8 mm |
| Plate | carbon fibre Flyplate |
| Foams | ZoomX and ZoomX LT, with Air Zoom units |
For the Alphafly 3, the same site lists 218 g in men’s EU 44, also with an 8 mm drop. Because the reference sizes differ, the 30 gram gap says little: a size 44 weighs more than a 42. The fair comparison comes from the RTINGS lab: in the same size, the Nike Alphafly 4 weighs about 14 grams less per shoe than the Alphafly 3. Nike does not publish the stack height on its Spanish site, but Believe in the Run lists 39 mm at the heel and 31 mm at the forefoot, and RTINGS measured a 39.8 mm heel. The full analysis, with pros and cons, is in our Nike Alphafly 4 review.

The obvious comparison is with the Evo 3, the adidas super shoe. On adidas.es the brand notes that the shoe debuted at the 2026 London Marathon, where Sabastian Sawe became the first person to finish an official marathon in under two hours (1:59:30, the world record we covered in the World Athletics moment of the year article). Adidas calls it its first super shoe under 100 grams.

The differences, using each brand’s figures:
| Spec | Nike Alphafly 4 | adidas Adios Pro Evo 3 |
|---|---|---|
| Price in Spain | €279.99 | €500 |
| Weight | 188 g (EU 42) | under 100 g |
| Drop | 8 mm | 3 mm |
| Stack height | 39 mm heel, 31 mm forefoot (Believe in the Run) | 39.5 mm heel, 36.5 mm forefoot |
| Foam | ZoomX and ZoomX LT | Lightstrike Pro Evo |
| Stiffening | carbon Flyplate | carbon Energyrim |
The Evo 3 costs €220 more, and adidas says on the page that no discounts or promotions apply. On 30 October the Spanish page did not let you buy it yet: it read “available on Tuesday 1 December at 09:00”. BIKILA, though, already had Evo 3 sizes that day at the same price, as it did for the Alphafly 4.
The Evo 3’s 39.5 mm heel keeps it inside the 40 mm road limit in the World Athletics shoe rules, which we explained with the Puma Fast-RB Nitro Elite 2. The Nike Alphafly 4 also complies, with the 39 mm Believe in the Run reports and the 39.8 mm RTINGS measured. The Evo 3 has its own analysis in our adidas Adios Pro Evo 3 review: RunRepeat’s lab weighed it at 99 grams but also found that its outsole and toebox wear out very quickly.

Kevin Morris at Canadian Running reports that the Evo 3 restock and the wider Alphafly 4 release in North America did not sell out straight away. In April the Evo 3 had gone in minutes, and so had the limited Alphafly 4 drop in September. Morris points to more super shoes on the market, discounted previous models and the fact that the autumn marathon season is almost over.
Timing matters in Spain too: if your marathon is in December or February, you should already have your race shoe and have tested it on long runs.

Is it worth it for an amateur runner?
That depends on your times and how many races you will run in it. A shoe like this belongs on race day and in the odd race pace session, because wearing it on easy runs shortens its life for no gain. If you are torn between a trainer and a racer, training vs racing shoes sets out how to decide.
Neither Spanish product page gives a lifespan in kilometres. If you also use them for intervals, keep an eye on wear with the signs listed in when to replace running shoes.

Cheaper alternatives to the Nike Alphafly 4
If you only need it for one race a year, there are options that cost a lot less. The closest is its predecessor: the Alphafly 3 is still discounted at BIKILA, from €209.95 in the colourway with the most sizes, and RTINGS puts it only about 14 grams heavier.
